Keep your competitive edge as you age
Defy the status quo and unlock your potential
Sports are awesome. There’s nothing like it. The thrill of participating, let alone competing, is rejuvenating to the soul. However, seeing your performance suffer, or being plagued by injuries is akin to cutting off a limb.
Just because you are a master’s athlete, doesn’t mean you have to slow down. You don’t have to always be dealing with injuries. You can still participate in your sport/activity of choice, and at a very high level. Doing so will require you to change some things that you are currently doing.
When you were younger, to get better at your sport all you had to do was play/participate in your sport more. That’s great when you are a beginner or younger. That isn’t you anymore and that approach isn’t effective. Learn what you should be doing, and why you should be doing it, and when you should be doing it to maximize your time doing your sport and getting the most out of it.
My name is Ryan Carver, owner of Leverage Fitness. As a strength coach and personal trainer and former pro athlete, I know what it takes to perform at a high level. As a personal trainer specializing in the 50+ masters athlete, I know the changes and challenges that you face now that you didn’t decades ago. Coupling these worlds of experience together I’ve put together a guidebook to help you navigate recurring injuries, missing aspects of your training and performance, and decreasing reaction time and power.
